Frequently asked questions
How often should I have a cleaning?
For most people, once or twice a year. People with gum problems may need more.
Can I see the dentist while pregnant?
Yes, and you should. Hormonal changes can inflame the gums. The second trimester is the best time for treatment.
My gums bleed when I brush. Is that normal?
No. It is usually a sign of gingivitis, which can be treated and prevented with good cleaning and regular hygiene visits.
This information does not replace an appointment. Results vary from person to person and depend on the dentist's assessment.
