Children's dentistry
Calm appointments for children, with time to lose their fear. We accept dental vouchers.
What it is
Children need time and patience. In the first visits the aim is for them to feel at ease, learn to brush and see going to the dentist as normal. Since our first year we have been part of Portugal's National Oral Health Programme and accept dental vouchers (cheque-dentista).
How it works
- 1
Getting to know the clinic
We show the chair and the instruments, without rushing.
- 2
Examination
We look at the teeth, the gums and how the mouth is growing.
- 3
Prevention
We teach brushing and, where indicated, apply fluoride or sealants.
- 4
Check-ups
Appointments every 6 months to follow growth.
Frequently asked questions
Do baby teeth need treating?
Yes. They hold the place of the permanent teeth, and decay in a baby tooth can cause pain and infection.
Do you accept dental vouchers?
Yes. We are part of the national programme. Bring the voucher to the first appointment.
When should the first visit be?
When the first tooth appears, or at least by the first birthday.
This information does not replace an appointment. Results vary from person to person and depend on the dentist's assessment.
